Montgomery Park is a 2-acre park located at 901 N Royal St in Alexandria. The park is just two minutes' walk from Abingdon Row and offers a variety of outdoor activities for the locals.
Montgomery Park features tennis courts, a playground, a fenced dog run, a gazebo, and a water fountain. The four lighted tennis courts are in the park are the most popular in the city and there are regular meetup groups and lessons throughout the week.
The playground is well equipped with play structures suited for both toddlers and older kids. They have 2 bucket swings and 2 regular swings, a seesaw, two smaller play structures with slides ideal for toddlers, and a larger structure for older kids that includes a tall slide, monkey bars and lots of things to climb and scale. The playground is used throughout the day, but its peak is weekday mornings and afternoons when St. Anthony’s School kids use it.
Montgomery Park is popular for birthday parties and it's also the site for Thursday Farmer's Market.
